Grey Ghost
Totally honest, this painting was an arduous process. I started it in 2011 a few months after my painting teacher's life got too hectic to give lessons. I'm going to keep going, I told myself (for two years!), and while perusing stock photos from my beloved deviantArt, I came across the photo of this handsome Weimaraner. I really liked the cool blues on his ghostly grey coat, on the shadow side, and his eyes.
So I roughed him in. And he sat there. And sat. And sat. I didn't paint for two years and he sat on my TV, mocking me. I don't think I touched him again until 2012, I did maybe one or two layers, and then in December 2012 almost got him finished, then, even though I was still painting, other things struck my fancy more so he sat a bit more. I finally got him done in March 2013. I think. I can't really decided whether he's done or not.
He is for sale... if you like him please give him a good home! This is 11 x 14 oil on stretched canvas, with the edges painted so framing is optional. $75
